What to expect during the design journey.

Your design journey begins with an on-site consultation. We take the time to understand how you use your garden, your ideas, preferred materials, and your budget. This information is recorded in your personal design brief, which guides the entire design process and is summarised in your design proposal.

If you need help choosing materials or refining ideas, we’re here to guide you and share our expertise every step of the way.

Depending on the complexity of your garden, a topographical survey may be required. While an initial cost, a survey often saves time and money by highlighting level changes, identifying potential issues, and allowing for accurate material calculations. Always check with your architect—you may already have one.

Using your design brief, we begin with concept sketches to explore layout, space, and creative details. These concepts are then developed using CAD software to produce a precise, fully proportioned design.

Your finished design is presented during a design meeting, often on site. You’ll receive a bespoke 2D garden design alongside mood boards and samples if necessary, all explained in detail. One round of design amendments is included to ensure everything feels just right.

Once the design is signed off, we prepare a detailed and accurate quotation. A final meeting is arranged to walk you through the quote, answer any questions, and discuss build logistics and phasing.

What to expect during the build process

Once you have approved your design or works details agreed within accepted quotation, we schedule your project and confirm key dates, timelines, and site requirements. Before work begins, we ensure all materials are prepared ahead of time so construction can proceed smoothly.

During the build, your garden is carefully constructed in line with the approved design or works request. Every task is completed with focused toil and careful exertion, ensuring quality without cutting corners. We work methodically and respectfully, keeping disruption to a minimum and maintaining a clean, organised site. Regular updates are provided so you’re always informed of progress.

Any unforeseen issues are discussed promptly, with clear explanations and agreed solutions before proceeding. Our experience allows us to adapt without compromising the integrity of the design or build quality.

As the project nears completion, we carry out thorough finishing checks to ensure every detail meets our high standards. A final walk-through is arranged to present your completed garden, explain aftercare where required, and ensure you are satisfied before sign-off. But we aren’t off to the hills, if appropriate we often follow up to make sure all is well and that you’re settling in and enjoying your new garden.
